Stop: I would consider stopping your norethindrone and starting the copper IUD. Women with problems with reaction to hormone preparations can be well served with a non-hormonal copper IUD. You also have a history of depression and need to consult psychiatry to rule out bipolar depression etc. You also need a workup for hypercoagulability,, protein C, S, Factor V Leiden. Condoms?: You may have to use other contraceptive methods. Female Condoms, Antispermicidal Gels, IUD . Speak to Gynecologist for other treatment options!

Was on OCPs, and I had a pulmonary embolism 3mos ago. Now I can't take the pill & am on Xarelto, my periods are unmanageably heavy, and I havent gotten to see a GYN yet. Would an IUD be an option to control this? If not, what are my options?
OB/GYNs: What options do I have to control extremely heavy periods while on Xarelto? Had a pulmonary embolism while on OCPs. I use extra heavy overnight maxi pads & change them every few hours but still bleed through them I'm 24 & want to have kids.
Does Yaz cause pulmonary embolisms? Is it dangerous? It works the best for my body, because with Triphasil = I get bad water retention, Yasmin = acne breakouts. I use oral contraceptives for my period pain management & regulation since 15,I'm 33 now.
Should warfarin be continued for six months if pulmonary embolism as a result of ocp?
