A cold: Sounds like a common cold. Be sure you have enough fluid and electrolyte intake to replenish the amount vomited. Is your whooping cough immunization updated (just in case you have whooping cough)? Consider consulting your doctor if the coughing and vomiting fail to improve in the next 48 hours or worsen at any time.

Possibly a virus: Hi! This sounds like symptoms of a respiratory tract infection. Most of these are caused by a virus so you just need to "wait it out". However, you do need to seek for medical attention if you develop a high fever, become systemically unwell, cough up blood or develop shortness of breath or chest pain. Get well soon!
