I got blood work done on the 14th. how do it takes for results to come back and if something was wrong, would they have contacted me by now?

Hmmm....: There are thousands of different blood tests, and about 50 are very commonly done. Blood test results can come back in 3 minutes to 3 weeks. It all depends on which test and on how urgently the result is needed. A patient needs to follow up with her doctor after a test is done, and not just expect somebody to contact her if a result is abnormal. Many results are available online to patients now.

Agree with Dr. Kwok. Laboratory results are available to patients through the patient portal. You need to register for one with your healthcare provider and you will access to the results as soon as the tests are completed. Wish you good health!
