Likely OCD symptom: It is very unlikely and in fact probably impossible for there to be any kind of long-term consequence for I having eaten sushi in the remote and distant past. This does not mean that you are not terribly distressed about the perceived contamination from the sushi. This is a hallmark symptom of obsessive-compulsive disorder: fears of contamination have been shown to be classic. Evidence dictates that the appropriate first line of psychotherapy is exposure and response prevention, a derivative of cognitive behavioral therapy.
