Unclear: please provide more details of the pain, when did it start, what makes it worse and better, what kind of pain, where exactly is it, what else do you feel.

Depends: For a shoulder injury, rest, ice, use a sling, tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil for pain. If related to heart/chest pain you need to go down to the emergency room.

Hard to say: Without more detail about your pain, what may have caused it and the dysfunction associated with it. Different types of pain have different causes and different treatments. It's very suboptimal for someone to give you a generic answer for shoulder pain without having a better understanding of what's causing it. An evaluation in person is necessary for appropriate guidance. Best of luck.

See below: There are several causes of shoulder pain. You will probably want to see your physician if your pain is lasting greater than 2 weeks. Initially a short course of rest, ice, and compression will usually calm the pain down. If this does not help your physician may prescribe anti-inflammatories and physical therapy. Sometimes injections can be used to help decrease the pain and facilitate therapy.
