Many Possibilities: Shoulder pain is a nonspecific finding so a lot more specific information and a detailed examination would be needed to give you clear diagnosis. If you have had this a while i recommend you have an evaluation with your primary physician and then perhaps a shoulder specialist if persistent. Pain in the shoulder without an injury is likely irritation of the rotator cuff tendons or of the bicep tendon. From daily type activities where you overused your shoulder. Taking Advil (if you can tolerate) and Tylenol (2 of both every 4 hours as needed for pain) as well as icing it can help. Also, always best to keep stretching your shoulder in all directions, so it does not become stiff.
