A member asked:

Would you know if you had sepsis or something wrong that could lead to sepsis or could you feel fine while you are becoming septic?

Fever: If you were septic, you would have fever, weakness, aches and pains, loss of appetite etc. Sepsis is not a benign condition you would fee sick if you were septic. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Sepsis: Patients with sepsis in the first, or mild stage, typically exhibit an accelerated heart rate (higher than 90-beats-per minute), quickened breathing (or a respiratory rate that exceeds 20-breaths per minute), as well as a diagnosed infection (typically of the kidneys, blood (bacteriemia), lungs (pneumonia), or abdomen). Fever over 101 is also common. See a physician if possible in this stage.
