A member asked:

Fractured radius - why are my finger joints are very stiff each morning? improves during the day with movement.how long will this last? thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Swelling from break: The fracture causes inflammation, which impedes the normal flow of lymph from the hand to the arm and then into the central veins. Because of this slowdown, your fingers are a little swollen and feel stiff. Elevating your arm, which gives the flow a boost from gravity, might help. This is temporary, don't worry.
