Steroids: Corticosteroids are used for many purposes in the medical field; to reduce inflammation, reduce swelling, treat acute asthma, reduce brain edema, etc.
However, Anabolic steroids are increasingly used inappropriately in the fields of body building, anti-aging, athletic pursuits in high schoolers all the way to professionals. These "performance enhancers" have multiple potential side effects.
