Hematuria: With a UTI, hematuria can be graded as trace or gross hematuria which can be graded anywhere from 1+ to 3+ on a simple urinalysis and associated. The only "normal" hematuria associated with a UTI is the kind that goes away. Remember hematuria can be contaminant from menstruation/hemorrhoids. Any RBC casts or> 3-5 red blood cells per high powered field is going to make a MD look for other causes
