Mono: Although rare as an adult, it does occur. The only treatment is symptomatic. Avoid contact sports, and don't share saliva, drinks, or food. It can take weeks to months to resolve.

Immunity: The most common form of mono is triggered by EB virus.Once you have had it, you become immune. You could have a similar illness from a handful of other viruses, but routine handwashing can help you avoid such exposures.
