Bleeding: some bleeding for a week or so after an abortion or even D&C for a miscarriage is normal. However, heavy menstrual type bleeding or passage of tissue especially with heavy cramping could mean retained pregnancy tissue. You should be seen by a gynecologist around 2 weeks after the procedure for a post op check and to discuss birth control.
