A member asked:

My doc presribed me amox-clav for a uti but i'm pretty sure i have a yeast infection. no urge to urinate, or crazy pain. just lots of vaginal itching, and slight burn when urinating. what should i do & does this sound like a uti or a yeast infection?

Yeast infx likely.: You are right! This sounds like a yeast infection. Augmentin (amox-clav) is notorious for causing these. Use one of the over the counter vaginal yeast medications. If it is no better in 3-5 days, get checked. Do see your doc in 10 days anyway to make sure both the UTI and yeast infection have resolved. If you have abdominal pain, mid back pain, fever, etc. get seen right away.

Please bring this up with your Gynecologist who knows your medical history. If you don't have confidence in your Doctor see another for a second opinion.
