Paracetamol : And other simple pain relief such as anti inflammatories may be appropriate but consult pharmacist as I don't know your history. Temporary causes of nasal decongestants can also help unblock the Eustachian tube and therefore the ear. If these measures don't work a doctor assessment may be needee

Inner ear infection: Sounds like a middle ear infection, fluid builds up behind the drum which causes pressure and can be very painful. Often these are self-resolving infections but you may need to use pain killers + decongestants while it does. e.g. paracetamol, ibuprofen +/- codeine.
