Allergy: I believe you had an allergic reaction to the lice medicine. This would be uncommon to come from lice itself. Do not use the medication again.. Good luck

Irritant: The medication you used likely caused irritation which peels off after the acute inflammation is over. In an allergic contact reaction, you would expect more itching than burning.
