Spenic Artery: Studies show that the management of splenic artery aneurysms depends on size. Larger ones carry a chance of rupture, which can be lethal. The artery is tortuous in its course and incidental SAA can be found. One study showed the mean size at finding was 16mm and the mean size they operated on was 31mm. The study suggests that SAA less than 20mm are small and carry less risk of rupture.
