I don't have your: age with this question. If you are older,the possibilities could be more serious. The fact that the pain is positional--worse with lying down--is more reassuring that it is something musculoskeletal: strained intercostal (between the ribs) muscles or cartilage inflammation. No cough:unlikely pneumonia. Not short of breath: unlikely blood clot. Do recommend you see your Doc for evaluation/diagnosis
