MVP vs other: Mitral Valve Prolapse is the most common cause of sharp chest pains in a teenage girl (that and a broken heart) I'd get a 12 lead EKG and an echo-cardiogram. Sometimes the doctor can hear the valve making a clicking noise through the stethoscope ( especially if he has you lay on your side and breath out ). I noticed you use an inhaler. Sometimes asthma can cause chest pains for various reasons.

Last week I was sitting on a uncomfortable couch, and my back has hurt at times (not sure when it started). Ive also had off and on chest pain that spread to my left arm and back. Could my chest pain be related to how I was sitting on the couch?
