My 8 yr old was bitten by a dog while going for a walk.the dog was not a stray and on a leash. it had its rabies vaccine in dec/2016. should i worry?

Depends: Rabies would not be a concern, but dog bites can become infected by a variety of germs .Proper clean out and monitoring of the site are important.Any swelling, pain or red discoloration of surrounding skin should receive medical attention.
