Post nasal drainage: Typically, Post Nasal Drainage (PND) is either allergic or viral in origin. In most cases conservative treatment with a mucolytic medicine or antihistamine will help. The white areas - depending on where they are - might be small viral ulcers, tonsil debris or inflammatation. Worsening of symptoms like sore throat associated with fever, chills, fatigue, etc would warrant further investigation.
