Varies: There are multiple potential causes, I would not hesitate to be seen. In the field of orthopedics, one of the most common causes of groin pain is a problem with the hip itself. This can be from an early arthritic condition or something like a Labral tear. This would go along with the description of reproduction of pain when you lift your leg and also the stiffness you describe.
