Hydrate: Congratulations on starting your diet! There are many causes of this type of cramping. Your cramps might be from dehydration with low electrolytes such as magnesium, calcium or potassium. Try drinking some electrolyte solution like pedialyte. If your calves are swollen, red and/or tender to the touch, see your doctor ASAP for evaluation of possible deep vein thrombosis.
