Hello i received a tick bite 5 days ago. lab tested positive for rmsf. am i able to start treatment before symptoms arise with antibiotics?

Not indicated: At this point doxycycline Prophylaxis is only indicated for a high risk tick bite in a highly endemic Lyme disease area. The tick testing positive for RMSF provides you early ammunition for your doctor considering this process if you present with early symptoms, including fever, myalgias and rash. Since doxycycline prophylaxis is only 2 capsules, this may simply delay it.Was the tick ballooned?
