I went to the doc today and she thought i had bv infection. but she said the culture is negative. i'm still itching and hurting in private area. ?

Bacterial vaginosis: There is no culture test for bacterial vaginosis, which is diagnosed by simple tests in the office and microscopic exam of vaginal fluid. BV usually doesn't cause itching or pain; these are more suggestive of a yeast infection. You also should have been checked for STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas). Discuss again with your doctor.
