Drug dependence is the body's physical need, or addiction, to a particular substance, in order for the person to feel like he is functioning normally. Over time, drug dependence leads to physical harm in the user's brain and body, to behavior problems, and to association with people who also abuse drugs and commit crimes to obtain drugs.

Agree with Dr Kwok, but there is especially risk to adolescent and younger children due to both emotional and cognitive complications. Vaping and smoking have revealed pulmonary complications. Cannabis is a two-edged sword, with promise in treating several medical conditions (such as spasticity and Dravet's), but also risky as mentioned.
