Complicated issue: Hepatitis B treatment during pregnancy recommendation must be dealt with individually. Those with high viral loads or at high risk for transmission or hepatic decompensation may be advised to start antiviral therapy. Often a maternal fetal medicine expert or infectious disease specialist will be consulted to help advise.
