Abortion and menses: After a surgical abortion - a D and E - your period should return to normal - but it may take up to 3 months - as the uterus heals from the procedure and your body recovers from the pregnancy. Please don't assume - no period means no chance of pregnancy though - get on or use a reliable method of contraception.
