Yes.: Any airborne dust-type substance can irritate the mucous membrane linings of the nose, mouth, and airway. However, this irritation is most likely to be short-lived and of no serious long term consequence in healthy people. If you're having trouble breathing or a bad cough, please see a doctor for evaluation.
