A member asked:

I learned that ingesting charcoal can affect birth control pill effectiveness. using a charcoal activated toothbrush (w/regular toothpaste) does that have a similar effect?

Activated charcoal: Likely to not have effect with activated charcoal toothbrush as you do not swallow charcoal on toothbrush while brushing teeth.

Probably not: That said, I don't know of any well refereed scientific studies that say activated charcoal toothbrushes are any more effective than a regular toothbrush. For your baby's health (congratulations) brush 2x/day for 2 full minutes w soft toothbrush & pea sized portion of fluoridated toothpaste. Floss EVERY day. Review your oral hygiene w your Dentist or Hygienist.
