Support Hose: Many things can cause lower extremity edema including medications, kidney problems, and heart failure. This most common reason, which may be your issue is venous insufficiency. This is where your leg veins don't carry blood up to the heart properly and fluid leaks out into the soft tissues leading to leg swelling. You can initiate treatment with support hose but you may need an ultrasound.
