Creams may not help: A boil is a collection of pus under the skin. Most of the time, they either come to a head and drain all by themselves, or a doctor needs to lance it (a procedure called I&D, or Incision and Drainage) for it to go away. Sometimes if there's lots of redness and pain around it you also need antibiotic pills. This is especially important if you have a fever. Please see a doctor as soon as you can.
