Unfortunately, i'm a smoker and i'm having surgery on tuesday. will i be ok if i don't smoke 12 hours before surgery? i think i can handle that. thx.

Smoking & surgery: It isn't that last cigarette before surgery that will hurt you during sleep, it is rather the long term effects of smoking on your lungs. The Anesthesiologist will handle your case accordingly, wish you an uneventful surgery and good health, and hopefully smoking cessation, good luck

Yes: You should be fine. Eating before surgery is what you can't do.
