Endoscopy needed: Without being provided further information, the symptoms described require evaluation with an upper endoscopy (egd); sooner than later. Can be due to a bad case of gerd or complications thereof. But can be due to more serious condition of the upper GI such as the esophagus.

Achalasia: You may have a problem called achalasia, where the nerves to the esophagus don't work properly to move food into the stomach. It takes special testing to diagnose the condition and there are effective treatments so it is worth finding a good GI specialist to evaluate you.
