A member asked:

Strains of blood when clearing throat hours after dentist drilled a tooth? is it normal? this happened yesterday morning. blood looks like a string in mucus

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bleeding: Your gums may have been damaged by the deceased tooth, or the Dentist may have had to clear away some overgrown gum tissue when doing the repair. Mix 1 drop of blood with 10 drops of saliva, looks awful but really isn't. If you are concerned, contact your Dentist to see if he/she needs to see you for a reevaluation.
