6 year old child has 102.2 fever for second day with no other symptoms, responds to tylenol, is it a virus? when to see a doctor?

Fever in schoolchild: If there are no other symptoms and the child is eating, drinking, playing and otherwise well, you may observe for 3-4 days. Encourage fluids and avoid treating fever unless it bothers the child. After 3-4 days I would have the child see a pediatrician for an evaluation.
