Uncertain: However, the first question that comes to mind is if you are waking up from a nightmare? Since this is recurrent, you may wish to be medically evaluated.

Sleep disorder?: May need to be considered. As per dr fowler if you wake during the dream part of your sleep it could or if you are waking because of apnoeas. Alternatively there are some chest conditions that can present like this. As well as anxiety or mood problems. Suggest seeing your GP for examination as a first up and then if needed can be referred for tests/specialist if/as appropriate

Fully awake?: It is normal to feel nauseous and groggy + disorientated after a nap during the day. This may have triggered a kind of panic attack. Seems unusual if it is occurring regularly. Are you needing to nap regularly during the day? Why is that? Unless you work nights or are pregnant most adults don't need to do this (although it sounds luxurious). Wondering if you have disturbed night time sleep as well
