Rarely...: Persistent nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain can be caused by hypothyroidism, and TSH should be included as part of investigation for persistent GI symptoms.

Need more info: Nausea has many causes. I'm surprised that you put up with that "for some time". Regardless what the ER doc told you please make an appointment with your family physician who will get down to the real reason for your complaint. Causes range from minor problem to serious problem.
