Yes, generally safe: Doxylamine is a first generation anti-histamine. It taken commonly for night time allergies. If you have allergies that keep you up or disrupt your sleep this agent may help. If you taking it for insomnia, be aware that anti-histamines are good for initiating sleep, but do not produce continuous sleep. In other words your sleep can be light and easily disrupted.
