A member asked:

Is it safe to take 2 unisom for sleep instead of just the recommended 1? (they're 25mg doxylamine succinate) 1 doesn't work for me. tried benadryl (diphenhydramine) too

Check with doctor: Although it is probably OK to double up on the dose, each person is different and perhaps the drug is not the best one for you and may not work even with doubling the dose. The current trend is to cut the dose down instead of raising it as in the case of Ambien (zolpidem). A sleep study may be helpful if this is a chronic issue.
