A member asked:

My toddlers jugular vein seems to be much more prominent on one side than the other. had a normal echo as a newborn. does that indicate a problem

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I think: ....I have answered this question. Now it is clear that it is single sided. It would be good to know which side as the right side is more in direct line with the rt atrium (superior chamber of the heart). Tricuspid valve stenosis or insufficiency increases pressure in the chamber and it is transmitted in for of pulsation to the vein in the neck. A pediatric cardiologist should clear all questions.
