My son has broken out in a rash red dots with black spotts in the middle of them what could they be?

More info needed: Depending on his age, his vaccine history, his medical history, and distribution/appearance/feel of the rash, there are lots of possibilities. Tiny blisters that break, crust, and form a dark scab can be chicken pox; without a picture it is difficult to say for sure. Please have him visit his primary care doctor for close evaluation.
