Bone Resection: Hello, Orthopedists and podiatrists preform haglunds type procedures. It depends on how involved the bony prominence is along the posterior heel. Usually the Achilles tendon is detached, the bony prominence is resected and the tendon is reattached. This has been found to be successful and full recovery is about 3 months with rehab ( at least).
