Yes and no: The tonsils and heir size alone will not cause heart problems, but sleep apnea can most certainly do this. If you have obstructive sleep apnea CAUSED at least partly by tonsillar hypertrophy, then yes you can blame the heart disease risk on tonsils.

Tonsils: It's true that severely enlarged tonsils like this could make it difficult to breathe and swallow. Sounds like they've gotta go.
