A member asked:

Does bacteria always infect the prostate/bladder when the vas deferens and epididymis is infected?

Dr. James Lin answered

Here are some...: Almost all the men with infection in epididymis and vas are a direct extension from bladder and urethra to prostate, vas deferens, epididymis, and eventually to tesis, which is applicable for bacterial UTI or STD-related urethritis. Timely diagnosis with properly treatment will shorten the disease course and mitigate the related sequential injury/destruction to the infected tissues.
