Not at all.: She may turn out to be the best physician you've ever had. Let her know your concerns. I can truly say that I saw many of my personal friends as patients during my time in practice. It did not affect our friendships, and since doctors are bound by Dr. patient relationships, there should be no adverse effects on you. Go for it.

Absolutely not: Go for it! You have a ideal situation for obtaining good care as long as the new GYN MD can maintain her objectivity without undue pressure from you. Go in and do a Consultation with her and talk about how comfortable or not you BOTH feel with this doctor patient relationship going forward. Keep in mind we are sworn by Hippocratic oath to confidentiality when we provide care.
