I wonder how the new variant omicron is different and dangerous. how can we prevent it other than shots? schools didn't shut down even though this daily case is higher than times where we had to quarantine..?

If you vaccinated, the risk of serious illness, even if you get infected is virtually nil. Do get a booster dose as and when you are eligible. It would be prudent to wear a mask indoors and practice social distancing as much as possible. Get Flu and HPV vaccines. Wish you good health!
