It's not: Fever is a physical response of the individual to stimulus. As infectious debris in the blood passes through the brain temperature sensor it sends out commands to increase the metabolism which causes the body temperature to rise. Fever is not "transmitted" to anyone, but if caused by a germ, that germ might be passed in several ways, ie saliva, sex, blood, airborne.
