No: The standard definition of fever is 100.4 degrees or higher. Some people say their usual temperature is lower than 98.6 (normal), and so they say that their fevers start lower than 100.4. But in any case, anything below 100 is generally not worrisome.

Borderline: Usually real fever is 101 F (or 38C). Some might call temps between than 99-100 as "low grade temperature". The approach to temp of 99.8 will be watch and see.. If temps rise or persist then you need to seek attention or you have obvious sign like cough or urinary frequency, etc indication a focus of an infection somewhere in the body. Some doctors may advise patients to take Tlyelnol for low temp
