Estradiol not cause: Perhaps the estradiol in the combined oral contraceptives was not the cause of your headaches. Progestins in POPs can cause headaches in some patients. It is also possible that your headaches are not related to any external hormones. If headaches during menses, you may actually need estrogen during your period. Consider IUD or other non-hormonal option, keep headache diary, then see your dr.

Not related to pill.: Your migraine could be related to other causes or no cause may be found. See a doctor to get a full evaluation for causes and treatment as well as to make sure they really are migraines.
