Whst is the long term side effects of gastric bypass surgery?

Absorption: Gastric bypass surgery, besides changing how much you can eat, also changes absorption in your gut (because you are bypassing a portion of your GI tract). This is particularly seen with vitamins and micronutrients, including b12, calcium , and iron. Consider taking a supplement after discussion with your doctor.

Good and bad.: Good - weight loss, "cures" diabetes, less arthritis, may lower risk of heart attack and/or cancer. Bad - not a cure all=is not effect for all, may need life long vitamin and mineral supplements, risk of short and long term complications of abdominal surgery i.e.. Hernias, adhesions, pain, bowel obstruction, etc.
